New Delhi, January 20:
Government officials on Monday emphasised the importance of developing voice-enabled and multilingual artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to make healthcare more accessible and inclusive across India. They highlighted that such technologies can bridge communication gaps in rural and remote areas where literacy levels vary and language diversity is high, ensuring that critical medical information reaches everyone effectively.
Experts noted that AI-powered voice interfaces can help patients access telemedicine services, schedule appointments, and receive health guidance in their native languages, reducing dependence on intermediaries. Officials added that integrating multilingual AI in public health initiatives could enhance disease surveillance, preventive care, and patient engagement, ultimately contributing to a more equitable and efficient healthcare ecosystem across the country.
