The Madras High Court on Thursday directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to issue the certification for Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film, putting an end to the ongoing uncertainty over its release. The court observed that delays in certification were affecting the filmmaker’s rights and that the CBFC must act within legal timelines.
The petition filed by the film’s producers highlighted that repeated delays and requests for changes were hampering the release schedule. The court’s directive ensures that the certification process will be completed promptly, allowing the movie to hit theatres without further hurdles.
