
New Delhi, October 23, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that he will participate virtually in the upcoming ASEAN-India Summit, underscoring India’s continued commitment to strengthening ties with Southeast Asian nations. The summit is expected to focus on enhancing strategic, economic, and cultural cooperation between India and the member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). PM Modi’s participation highlights India’s proactive engagement in regional diplomacy and multilateral platforms.
In a separate development, PM Modi extended his congratulations to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on assuming the chairmanship of ASEAN. He expressed confidence that under Ibrahim’s leadership, ASEAN will continue to play a pivotal role in promoting regional peace, stability, and prosperity. The Indian Prime Minister emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between India and ASEAN nations to address shared challenges and deepen bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
