Bihar: Jitan Ram Manjhi Seeks Rajya Sabha Seat For His Party HAM

Patna, December 22:
Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Monday expressed his intention to secure a Rajya Sabha seat for his party, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) [HAM (S)], highlighting the party’s ambitions in the state’s political landscape.

Speaking to reporters, Manjhi said that HAM (S) has a strong grassroots presence and represents the interests of various communities in Bihar. He emphasised that obtaining representation in the upper house would allow the party to contribute effectively to national-level policymaking.

Political analysts noted that Manjhi’s move comes ahead of the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar and reflects the party’s strategy to strengthen its position and influence. The announcement is also seen as an effort to consolidate support among regional allies and voters.

Manjhi added that his party would work constructively in Parliament while maintaining its distinct political identity, stressing that HAM (S) aims to raise the issues and aspirations of Bihar’s citizens at the national stage.
