Manila, November 5: At least 66 people have lost their lives as Typhoon Kalmaegi tore through the Philippines, unleashing powerful winds and torrential rains that triggered landslides and widespread flooding across several provinces. Thousands of residents were forced to evacuate as homes, roads, and infrastructure suffered extensive damage in the storm’s rampage.
Emergency response teams have been deployed to the worst-hit regions to carry out rescue and relief operations, while authorities have set up temporary shelters for displaced families. The government has urged caution as floodwaters remain high in some areas, with power outages and blocked roads slowing down relief efforts.
