Islamabad, November 4, 2025: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed its flight operations to the United Kingdom after a five-year ban, marking a significant development for the national carrier. The first flight took off on Tuesday, restoring a key international route that had been suspended since 2020 following safety and licensing concerns raised by UK aviation authorities. The resumption is seen as a crucial step towards rebuilding global confidence in PIA and strengthening Pakistan’s air travel connectivity.
Aviation officials stated that the airline has implemented several reforms to meet international safety standards and improve operational efficiency. Passengers welcomed the move, expressing hope that the restored route would enhance travel convenience for the large Pakistani diaspora in the UK. PIA plans to gradually increase flight frequency in the coming months as part of its broader strategy to expand global operations and regain credibility in the international aviation market.
