
December 8, 2025,New Delhi Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India and Russia have agreed to significantly strengthen their bilateral trade and strategic partnership. The two countries will expand cooperation in key sectors such as energy, defence manufacturing, nuclear power, fertilizers, shipping, and heavy industries. This move is expected to reduce dependency on limited markets and boost long-term economic stability for both nations.
The leaders also discussed increasing non-oil trade, promoting joint manufacturing under the “Make in India” initiative, and encouraging technology sharing. India aims to attract Russian investments into infrastructure, electronics, and industrial corridors, while Russia looks to expand its footprint in India’s fast-growing market. Officials said these agreements will create thousands of new jobs and strengthen India’s global strategic position.
