Kolkata | December 4, 2025 — West Bengal MLA Humayun Kabir on Wednesday announced that he will resign from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) tomorrow following his suspension from the party. Speaking to the media in Kolkata, Kabir expressed disappointment over the party’s decision and confirmed his intention to step down from both the party and its responsibilities as a TMC legislator.
Kabir’s suspension comes amid rising internal tensions within the party, with reports suggesting disagreements over policy decisions and local leadership issues. Political analysts say his resignation could trigger further realignments in the state’s political landscape ahead of upcoming elections, intensifying speculation about possible defections or new alliances.
