New Delhi, December 3, 2025 — India is in advanced discussions with an Israeli defence technology firm for the potential procurement of the world’s first computerised rifle, marking a major leap in next-generation infantry warfare. The proposed weapon system is expected to integrate artificial intelligence, advanced targeting systems, and real-time battlefield data processing to significantly enhance soldier accuracy and combat efficiency.
Defence officials indicated that the talks focus on technology transfer, joint manufacturing in India, and long-term maintenance support under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. If finalized, the deal could give Indian armed forces a strategic edge in modern warfare while also strengthening Indo-Israel defence cooperation in high-tech military equipment.
