Union Home Minister Amit Shah sharply criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after she wrote to the Election Commission raising concerns about alleged irregularities. Shah accused Banerjee of attempting to “save infiltrators” and divert attention from issues affecting West Bengal’s security and governance.
He stated that the Centre remains committed to safeguarding national interests and ensuring free, fair elections. The exchange further intensified the ongoing political tensions between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress ahead of upcoming electoral activities in the state.
