Moscow / New Delhi, November 20, 2025:
Russia has signaled a major shift in its defence export policy by offering unrestricted technology transfer for its Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jet to long-term partners, according to a senior Russian official. This move could enable other countries to access advanced stealth, avionics, and weapons systems – effectively exporting one of Russia’s most sophisticated air-combat platforms without major restrictions.
The offer underscores Moscow’s strategy to deepen its defence ties amid shifting global alignments. By allowing full technology-sharing, Russia aims to strengthen its alliances and increase its influence in the global defence landscape, while providing a compelling alternative to Western jet programmes.
