IAF and French Air Force Launch Garuda-25 at Mont-de-Marsan in Strategic Bilateral Air Drill

Mont-de-Marsan, France | November 18, 2025
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has kicked off the 8th edition of its bilateral combat exercise, Garuda-25, with the French Air and Space Force (FASF) at Mont-de-Marsan. The two-week-long exercise, running until November 27, brings together IAF Su-30MKI jets and French multirole fighters in complex air-to-air engagements, strike missions, and defence drills.

The exercise is designed to sharpen tactics and build interoperability under realistic operational conditions. To enable the high-intensity training, the IAF has deployed C-17 Globemaster III aircraft for logistics and IL-78 tankers for mid-air refuelling — allowing its Su-30s to maximize range and endurance during the demanding manoeuvres.
