Washington D.C., November 13, 2025 — The 43-day-long U.S. government shutdown, one of the longest in American history, has finally come to an end after intense negotiations between Congress and the White House. Lawmakers reached a last-minute bipartisan agreement late Wednesday night to reopen federal agencies and release delayed employee payments.
The shutdown, which began in late September, had severely disrupted key federal operations, furloughed hundreds of thousands of workers, and stalled several public services. President Joe Biden hailed the resolution as a “victory for the American people,” emphasizing the need for long-term fiscal stability and bipartisan cooperation to prevent future shutdowns.
