New Delhi, November 2025: In a heartfelt appeal to fans and authorities, Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri and several top players have come together to express concern over the uncertain future of the ISL 2025-26 season. Taking to social media, the players emphasized that football in India is at a “critical juncture” and that maintaining continuity in the league is essential for the sport’s growth and fan engagement.
The joint statement, supported by players across various ISL clubs, urged stakeholders to prioritize stability, transparency, and player welfare amid ongoing administrative and financial challenges. Chhetri highlighted that India’s football momentum, especially after recent international improvements, must not be derailed, adding, “Our nation needs competitive football more than ever if we are to inspire the next generation.”
